Description:
Light blue satin horse shoe with white lace edgeing. Ribbon straps for holding which end in a bow. Card inside fabric holds the shape. Decorated with two satin flowers — one pink, one blue, the interior of each has three small pearl coloured beads.
Horseshoes have been a symbol of good luck and are often associated with marriage, as they resemble the shape of the crescent moon which is a symbol of fertility. The horseshoe is supposed to be held to maintain the 'U' shape, otherwise the luck will 'fall out'.
