Lady's dress from the Victorian era. The material is cotton and has green leaves with purple and red berries on the surface. There is purple pattern of cord trim on the sleeves with a plain crimson trim along the bottom of the dress. There are two detachable sleeves made from the same fabric. There are hooks and eye on the back to fasten up the dress.
It was owned by the Phillips family who came to Auckland from Australia late 1840s, one of the members married Thomas Bridson in 1880 in Auckland.
Billy Bridson, a related family member lived at 11 Aperahama Road, Paekakariki.
