Six men wearing piupiu (traditional Maori grass skirts) crouch in various poses. Behind them stand a man and a woman both wearing Maori cloaks. The man is wearing a suit and tie under his cloak and may be a dignitary. They stand in front of a large display of fern leaves.

This photo was probably taken sometime shortly before, during or shortly after World War Two.
