Description:
The ANZAC Commemorative Medallion or Gallipoli Medallion. The front depicts Simpson and his donkey carrying a wounded soldier. This is beneath the crown and atop a wreath of gum leaves and the word ANZAC.
The reverse is a depiction of Australia and New Zealand with the stars of the Southern Cross, beneath a crown and atop a wreath of fern leaves. Beneath this is the engraving of the soldier's number and name 10/2093 EE CAKEBREAD.

It is in a black presentation box with the New Zealand Coat of Arms in gold on the lid.

This medal was awarded to all who served at Gallipoli campaign of 1915, but was not instituted until 1967. E E Cakebread never applied for this medal, so was not obtained until 2013 when his next of kin applied for it.
