Description:
Leather pouch with pockets and sleeves containing sewing equipment for mending clothes. Folds over and closes with a dome. Contains wool, nails, buttons, needles and two badges (Fire Brigade Life Member 2014.700.118 & NZ Returned Services Association 2014.700.117). This is a 'Housewife' (pronounced 'hussif') owned and used by Edward Eric Cakebread during his service in World War One. Interior stamp "The Mayoress' Countess of Liverpool Fund Wellington Branch"
