RE: MANGAONE BRIDGE
Since discussing this with you we have met with Mr D Bly of the Kapiti Coast District Council and with Mr R Andrell, Senior Assistant Land Registrar.
As a consequence the Gazette Notice schedule on Document B026417—3 has been amended so that areas C, G, E and F are correctly shown as Party Sec 1, Sec 4, Sec 2 and Sec 3 respectively. This confirms the information now shown on SO 32568 as amended in 1989.
The new titles have not been issued for Sec 1 and 3 because they have not been ordered by the council.
Out of interest and that subconscious concern which is inexplicable, we decided to survey the actual bridge position.
It has never been on legal road!!
As shown on the attached print it runs from Mr Hosken's land across the Ngatiawa River to the land owned by Mr and Mrs Tuttiet.
To rectify this situation it would be necessary to create an Esplanade Reserve over parts of the land owned by these people. Presumably a peppercorn rental lease could then be arranged. This would involve advertising the lease proposal.
Some legal and lodgement fees would be involved.
[Page 2]
We are prepared to donate our survey fees if the Reserve proposal is pursued. Some appropriate recognition would be preferred.
A copy of this letter and plan has been sent to Ms Ruth Wright, Mr Wilf Wright and Mr Don Bly.
We are pleased to be of assistance.
Yours faithfully
